That's funny, Maria! No, it's not a speed limit. Signs with this shape and color combination are used to identify highways. So I guess you could say we're all speeding down Highway 5, heading toward Composition Class! There's no speed limit. Get there as fast as you can !!!!!!!!!!! :)

hey fatimazahra, i too is experirncing such thing, but i was the one that set it that way. it is just to alert you when there is any changes or coment on wiki. you unknowinly set it during the time you logged into wiki, but you can may want to go back to profile and reset it there.

Mary is right, Fatimazahra. Click on "account" in the upper right-hand corner of any page. Choose the "Home" tab on your MyPBWorks page, and in the "Preferences" area, choose how often you want to be emailed with changes. If you checked "Immediately," you've been getting emails all weekend while I and everybody else made changes to the pages.

what said where - what kind notations used in which books - what happened to Saddam, or what happened at the Virgina campus - does not fits this essay topic - Be a human , show Human nature to each other and try to improve Humanity. This advice to every one including whoever reads this - may be Prof., students, or even to Saddam/ or the student who involved in Virginia incident - if every one follows this principle - and show kindness to every living things in the earth - then there won't be any more Saddam or Virginia rampage incidents.

I just want to clarify that - the person can be on either side -Good/bad- but i request you all- not to realize/judge whether he showed humanity to others or not - but if they did show him some humanity - it might had saved one human life - also in case(if), he was criminal - then this would be a perfect situation to show him- what humanity means/ to make him understand -how much worth the life is ?.

Also i want to comment here - that i am little disagree with the author, George Orwell in that he is very good in narrating the situation, explaining every aspects of human feelings and emotions - special applause to the Dog's behavior, but at last, he also witnessed the hanging along with others without taken an effort to stop it or show some kind of humanity towards the prisoner!!

These last five comments are very interesting, Venkatesh, but how did they end up here on the Front Page instead of on the Hanging discussion page? Many of your classmates may have missed them, not knowing where to find them. (I discovered them myself just a minute ago.)

I like this essay because it is commun in familys, and not a lot of wamens slapp their housben like she did. She was wrong to act like that, but I think that it is better that she hit him and not him to her.

Sara, let me give you an example. Say you trade in your old car for a new car because the old car was breaking down too often, using too much gas, and costing too much to operate. Your new car is different in every way. It runs reliably (except that the sophisticated computer navigation system always need to be repaired); it gets much better gas mileage (except that you drive it so much more, you always need to fill up); and it is economical to operate (except that now you almost live in it so you can barely afford it!).

In other words, although the details of the cars are very different (contrasts), you've basically traded one set of problems for another (comparison).

Hi prof. Hogies! The information about exam are confusing. Why is there written "Each essay will get two different scores for about of 12 points ?" Does it mean that we have to write two essays? Also, I don't know how much time will be given to us.

The process is not that complicated. The sessions are 90 minutes each. After 90 minutes, the computer will disengage itself from the server whether you're finished or not, so do watch your time carefully.

You will write only one essay, which will be graded by at least two ESL professors. Each will grade your essay with a score between 0 and 6. So the highest grade any essay can score is 12. In previous years, a student needs a score of 6 or higher to pass the Final Exam.

You must also pass the course requirements with a 75%. A 6 on the Final is the equivalent of 75%. Other numerical grades correspond to other percentages which are used to determine your final course grade.
